About Me
I'm a current undergraduate dual major Apparel and Textiles and in Theater with a Costuming concentration. I have experience in apparel/costume design, alterations, sewing, draping, pattern making, and textile design. I specialize in children's wear and product design. Recently, I participated in the University of Alabama’s Fashion Playbook fashion show, where I designed two children’s game day outfits.
I also have extensive experience in digital illustration and design. I am proficient in Office 360 products and Adobe products. I am especially proficient in Adobe Fresco and Adobe Illustrator. In my free time, I enjoy making designs in Adobe to be printed on fabrics, cards, and stickers.
I also run my own small business called The Lavender Dragon. There, I create various small products, both physical and digital. Regarding digital products, I specialize in printable papers, crafts, and cards. In terms of physical products, I make soaps, wax melts, bags, cards, and stickers.
For my costuming major, I have significant experience within the costume shop at the University of Alabama. I have worked as a costume shop practicant for several semesters. I also have taken several costuming and costume design classes. I enjoy creating unique costume designs and bringing them to life with my sewing skills.
Through both my majors, I have developed a variety of sewing and textile finishing skills. I am skilled at both hand and machine sewing. I can efficiently operate both home and industrial sewing machines. I also have basic embroidery skills. In addition, I am able to draft my own patterns and modify existing patterns with ease.
I have plans to pursue a graduate degree in Textile Engineering/Fiber Science. After my education is complete, I hope to find a job either in textile engineering or in clothing design, specifically children’s wear. I am always open to new and unique opportunities, so I am not set on a specific career path.
